¶ November 3, 2026 - Restore points, Recently deleted folders, Jellyfin hardware transcoding, and more
Here's what shipped since our last update.
- Restore points for folders, apps and VMs. Open the Restore points tab to click Take now or set a Schedule. Restore in place with 7 days to undo, or restore a folder or VM as a copy beside the original.
- Get back a single file. Browse files opens a restore point so you can bring back only what you need.
- New folders get a schedule automatically. Existing folders, apps and VMs need one turned on from their Restore points tab.
- Recently deleted. Deleting a folder now moves it to Recently deleted for 30 days, with its files, access and restore points. Bring it back with Restore folder, or choose Delete forever to free the space right away.
- Find folders. The Folders page now has a search box.
- Port conflicts are handled for you. If a port is taken, HexOS moves the app to a free one, or tells you what's using a port the app can't do without.
- Jellyfin hardware transcoding. HexOS turns it on when your server's graphics can handle it, and adds the firmware low-power Intel chips like the Celeron N5105 need.
- Plex, Jellyfin and Emby cards show sharper artwork.
- In some cases, app updates changed permissions on folders other apps share, Jellyfin added the same library more than once, or Connect to Jellystat failed with Jellyfin 12. These are fixed.
- Your buddy keeps your history. If restore points are deleted or rolled back on your server, by mistake or by ransomware, your buddy's server keeps its copies of your recent ones.
- Keep an older backup and start fresh. When your backup and your server no longer match, keep the existing backup and start a new one beside it.
- Transfer speeds are measured more accurately, and servers on the same network back up at full local speed.
- Manage existing UPS in HexOS takes over automatic shutdown for a UPS you set up in TrueNAS. Manage only in TrueNAS hands it back.
- Replace primary UPS switches to a new UPS, with Restore previous UPS if anything goes wrong.
- A/B shutdown protection for servers with two power supplies, each on its own UPS.
- More USB UPS models work, and the Power screen now shows your main UPS first.
- New Plex VMs reach your media folders directly instead of through a network share.
- In some cases, the VM console opened blank, or a removed VM's disks couldn't be deleted. These are fixed.
- Page actions like New pool, New folder and Update all now sit at the top of each page, next to search.
- Your browser picks up new Command Deck versions right away, instead of hours later.
- In some cases on TrueNAS 26, a server showed offline after a restart, or setting up a VM or sharing a folder failed with a permissions error. These are fixed.
