Features

Once your server is up and running, you'll have access to everything you need to manage your data, run applications, share files across your network, and keep your system running smoothly.

This document will will briefly introduce each screen within HexOS.

Dashboard

The Dashboard is the first screen you see after logging into the web interface after installing HexOS.

From the dashboard you can

  • Review system activities
  • Apply OS updates
  • Monitor resource usage
  • Control your installed applications & virtual machines
  • Review alerts and errors

By default you will see system information, storage, and apps on your dashboard. However this display is configurable in preferences which can be found in the settings tab.

Storage

The Storage screen allows users to configure and manage storage resources such as pools and disks.

From the Storage screen you can

  • Create new pools
  • Delete pools
  • Expand existing pools
  • View the status of pools
  • View the health of pools & drives

Folders

The Folders screen allows us to configure and manage folders and user accounts.

From the Folders screen you can

  • Create folders
  • Manage folders
  • Share folders over the network
  • Setup backup with Apple Time Machine or Windows Backup
  • Create user accounts
  • Manage user accounts

Apps

The Apps screen allows us to install and manage apps.

From the apps screen you can

  • Intall apps
  • Modify apps
  • Open the WebUI for apps
  • View status of apps
  • Update apps
  • View apps catalog

Settings

The Settings screen allows us to modify our server prefrences.

From the Settings screen you can

  • Manage network prefrences
  • Change server name
  • Unclaim server
  • Reset Server
  • View notification logs
  • Modify the Dashboard
  • Manage location prefrences
  • Open the Truenas UI

Notifications

The Notifications screen shows alerts and updates on our servers

From the notification screen you can view

  • Server updates
  • Application updates
  • Server warnings
  • Disk failure warnings

Profile

Your profile menu lives in the top-right corner of the HexOS deck.

From the profile menu you can

  • Switch to dark mode
  • Change languages
  • Jump to our Community Hub
  • Send feedback
  • Sign out.
